home row
The "home row" refers to the middle row of keys on a standard QWERTY keyboard. It includes the letters A, S, D, F, G, H, J, K, L, and the semicolon (;). This row is called the home row because it is where typists rest their fingers when not typing.
When touch typing, the index fingers start on the F and J keys, which usually have small bumps to help locate them without looking. Mastering the home row is essential for developing typing speed and accuracy, as it serves as the foundation for reaching other keys on the keyboard.
