gastroscopy
Gastroscopy is a medical procedure that allows doctors to examine the inside of the esophagus, stomach, and the first part of the small intestine. It is performed using a thin, flexible tube called an endoscope, which has a light and camera at its tip. This procedure helps diagnose conditions such as ulcers, inflammation, or tumors.
During a gastroscopy, the patient is usually sedated for comfort. The endoscope is gently inserted through the mouth and guided down the throat into the digestive tract. The images captured by the camera help doctors identify any abnormalities and determine the appropriate treatment.
