eight-ball
Eight-ball is a popular cue sport played on a rectangular table covered with green felt. The game uses a set of 16 balls: one cue ball and 15 object balls, which are divided into two groups—solid and striped. The objective is to legally pocket all of your designated balls and then the eight ball to win the game.
Players take turns striking the cue ball with a cue stick to hit their object balls into pockets. The game begins with a break shot, where the player must hit the racked balls. Billiards and pool are related games that share similar rules and equipment.
