departure gate
A departure gate is a designated area in an airport where passengers wait to board their flights. Each gate is assigned a specific flight number and destination, allowing travelers to easily find where they need to go. The gate is usually equipped with seating, flight information displays, and sometimes shops or restaurants nearby.
When it's time to board, airline staff will announce the boarding process, often calling passengers by group or row number. Passengers present their boarding passes at the gate before entering the jet bridge or tarmac to board the aircraft.
