defensive end
A defensive end is a position in American football, typically part of the defensive line. Their primary role is to stop the opposing team's running plays and to pressure the quarterback during passing plays. Defensive ends line up on the outer edges of the defensive line and use their speed and strength to tackle ball carriers or disrupt plays.
In addition to tackling, defensive ends must also be skilled at shedding blocks from offensive linemen. They often face challenges from offensive tackles and must use various techniques to get past them. Successful defensive ends can significantly impact the outcome of a game by creating turnovers and applying pressure on the quarterback.
