daytime running lights
Daytime running lights (DRLs) are special lights on vehicles that automatically turn on when the engine is running. Their primary purpose is to increase the visibility of the vehicle during daylight hours, making it easier for other drivers and pedestrians to see it. DRLs are typically located in the front of the vehicle and can be LED or halogen lights.
These lights do not replace standard headlights, which are used in low-light conditions. Instead, DRLs serve as an additional safety feature, helping to reduce the risk of accidents. Many countries have regulations requiring the use of DRLs in certain vehicles to enhance road safety.
