cystoscope
A cystoscope is a medical instrument used by doctors to examine the inside of the bladder and urethra. It is a thin, tube-like device equipped with a light and camera, allowing for clear visualization of these areas. The procedure, known as cystoscopy, helps diagnose conditions such as urinary tract infections, bladder stones, and tumors.
During a cystoscopy, the doctor inserts the cystoscope through the urethra and into the bladder. This minimally invasive procedure can also be used for treatments, such as removing small growths or taking tissue samples for further analysis. It is typically performed in a hospital or outpatient setting.
