complete injury
A complete injury refers to a type of spinal cord injury where there is a total loss of sensory and motor function below the level of the injury. This means that the individual cannot feel or move parts of their body that are affected by the injury. Complete injuries can result from trauma, such as accidents or falls, and are often classified by the specific vertebrae affected.
In contrast to incomplete injuries, where some function may remain, complete injuries lead to a permanent loss of function. Individuals with complete injuries may experience paralysis, which can be categorized as quadriplegia if all four limbs are affected, or paraplegia if only the lower body is impacted.
