closure property
Closure property refers to a fundamental concept in mathematics that states if you perform a specific operation on elements within a set, the result will also belong to that same set. For example, if you take two numbers from the set of integers and add them together, the sum will also be an integer. This property helps define the structure of various mathematical sets.
Different operations can exhibit closure property. For instance, the set of natural numbers is closed under addition and multiplication, meaning that adding or multiplying any two natural numbers will yield another natural number. However, the set of natural numbers is not closed under subtraction, as subtracting a larger natural number from a smaller one can result in a negative number, which is not a natural number.
