chariot race
A chariot race is a competitive event where chariots, which are lightweight, two-wheeled vehicles pulled by horses, race against each other. These races were popular in ancient cultures, especially in Ancient Greece and Rome, where they took place in large arenas called hippodromes. The goal is to complete a set number of laps around the track as quickly as possible.
Chariot racing required skilled drivers, known as charioteers, who had to control their horses while navigating tight turns and avoiding collisions. The races were often thrilling and dangerous, attracting large crowds of spectators who cheered for their favorite teams or factions.
