attachment styles
Attachment styles refer to the patterns of how individuals relate to others in close relationships, often formed in childhood. These styles are typically categorized into four types: secure, anxious, avoidant, and disorganized. Each style influences how people communicate, express emotions, and handle intimacy in their adult relationships.
Secure individuals generally feel comfortable with closeness and are able to depend on others while also being independent. In contrast, anxious individuals may crave closeness but often fear abandonment. Avoidant individuals tend to distance themselves from emotional connections, while disorganized individuals may exhibit a mix of both anxious and avoidant behaviors, often stemming from past trauma.
