Anacondas are large snakes found primarily in the tropical rainforests of South America. They belong to the Boidae family and are known for their impressive size, with the green anaconda being the largest species. These snakes can grow up to 30 feet long and weigh over 500 pounds. Anacondas are semi-aquatic and often inhabit swamps, marshes, and slow-moving streams. These snakes are non-venomous and kill their prey through constriction. Their diet mainly consists of fish, birds, and mammals, including capybaras and even caimans. Anacondas are excellent swimmers and can hold their breath underwater for up to 10 minutes while hunting.
