Zoroastrian Festivals
Zoroastrian festivals celebrate key aspects of the Zoroastrian faith, which is one of the world's oldest religions. The most significant festival is Nowruz, the Persian New Year, marking the arrival of spring and symbolizing renewal and rebirth. It is celebrated on the vernal equinox and involves various rituals, including cleaning homes and sharing meals with family and friends.
Another important festival is Gahambars, which are seasonal festivals that honor creation and the elements. There are six Gahambars throughout the year, each dedicated to a specific aspect of creation, such as water or earth. These festivals involve communal prayers, feasting, and charitable acts, reinforcing community bonds and spiritual values.
