Zapata Wren
The Zapata Wren is a small bird species native to the wetlands of the Zapata Swamp in southern Cuba. It is known for its distinctive brown and white plumage, which helps it blend into its marshy habitat. This wren is primarily insectivorous, feeding on various insects and invertebrates found in the dense vegetation.
Due to habitat loss and degradation, the Zapata Wren is classified as endangered. Conservation efforts are underway to protect its habitat and ensure the survival of this unique species. The bird is also a part of the rich biodiversity found in the Cuban ecosystem.
