Zamenhof
Ludwig Lazarus Zamenhof was a Polish ophthalmologist and linguist best known for creating Esperanto, a constructed international language. Born in 1859, Zamenhof aimed to foster communication and understanding among people from different cultures. He believed that a common language could help reduce conflict and promote peace.
Zamenhof published the first book on Esperanto in 1887, introducing a simple grammar and vocabulary that drew from various languages. His vision was to create a neutral linguistic bridge, allowing people to connect without the barriers of their native tongues. Today, Esperanto is spoken by thousands worldwide, continuing Zamenhof's legacy of unity through language.
