Zainul Abedin
Zainul Abedin was a prominent Bangladeshi painter, born on December 29, 1914, in Mymensingh. He is best known for his contributions to modern art in Bangladesh and is often referred to as the "father of modern art" in the country. His works often depicted the struggles and resilience of the Bengali people, especially during the Bengal Famine of 1943.
Abedin co-founded the Dhaka Art College in 1948, which played a crucial role in nurturing artistic talent in Bangladesh. His unique style combined traditional Bengali themes with modern techniques, making his art both relatable and innovative. Zainul Abedin passed away on May 28, 1976, leaving a lasting legacy in the world of art.
