Zafar Shah
Zafar Shah is a historical figure known for his role as the last Mughal emperor of India. He ruled from 1837 until 1857, during a time when the British East India Company was expanding its control over the Indian subcontinent. His reign marked the decline of the Mughal Empire, which had once been a powerful dynasty in the region.
In 1857, Zafar Shah was involved in the Indian Rebellion against British rule, which is also known as the Sepoy Mutiny. After the rebellion was suppressed, he was captured and exiled to Rangoon, where he lived until his death in 1862. His legacy remains significant in discussions about colonialism and Indian history.
