Yusra Mardini
Yusra Mardini is a Syrian swimmer and refugee who gained international recognition for her inspiring story. In 2015, she fled the civil war in Syria and, while crossing the Aegean Sea, helped save fellow refugees by swimming alongside their sinking boat. Her bravery and determination led her to seek asylum in Germany.
Mardini has represented the Refugee Olympic Team at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, showcasing her talent and resilience. She is also an advocate for refugees, using her platform to raise awareness about the challenges they face and to inspire others to pursue their dreams despite adversity.
