Yongsan Garrison
Yongsan Garrison is a former United States Army base located in Yongsan District, Seoul, South Korea. Established in the early 20th century, it served as a key military installation for U.S. forces stationed in the region. The garrison played a significant role during the Korean War and throughout the Cold War, providing support and logistics for American troops.
In 2017, the U.S. military officially transferred control of the site to the South Korean government. The area is now being redeveloped into a public park and mixed-use urban space, reflecting the changing dynamics of U.S.-South Korea relations and the ongoing transition of military presence in the region.
