Yeonpyeong incident
The Yeonpyeong incident refers to a military confrontation that occurred on November 23, 2010, between North Korea and South Korea. North Korea fired artillery shells at Yeonpyeong Island, which is located near the disputed maritime border in the Yellow Sea. This attack resulted in the deaths of four South Koreans, including two soldiers, and caused significant damage to the island.
In response, South Korea conducted artillery drills and returned fire towards North Korean positions.
