Yamagata Castle
Yamagata Castle, also known as Kajo Castle, is located in Yamagata City, Japan. Built in the early 17th century, it served as the seat of the Yamagata Domain during the Edo period. The castle features a unique design with a central keep and surrounding moats, showcasing traditional Japanese architecture.
Today, only the stone walls and some reconstructed structures remain, as the original buildings were dismantled in the late 19th century. The castle grounds are now a public park, offering visitors beautiful cherry blossoms in spring and a glimpse into Japan's feudal history.
