Yakshas
Yakshas are supernatural beings in Hindu, Buddhist, and Jain traditions, often depicted as nature spirits associated with wealth and fertility. They are typically portrayed as benevolent guardians of treasures hidden in the earth and forests, embodying the spirit of the natural world.
In art and literature, Yakshas are frequently shown as male figures, sometimes accompanied by Yakshis, their female counterparts. They play significant roles in various myths and stories, serving as protectors of sacred sites and as attendants to deities like Kubera, the god of wealth.
