Yagé
Yagé, also known as Ayahuasca, is a traditional plant-based brew originating from the Amazon rainforest. It is made from the Banisteriopsis caapi vine and other plants, often including Psychotria viridis. Indigenous communities have used Yagé for centuries in spiritual and healing ceremonies, believing it connects them to the spiritual world.
The brew contains psychoactive compounds, primarily DMT (dimethyltryptamine), which can induce altered states of consciousness. Yagé ceremonies are typically led by a shaman, who guides participants through their experiences, which may include visions and emotional healing. Today, Yagé is gaining attention worldwide for its potential therapeutic benefits.
