Yūshio-class
The Yūshio-class is a class of diesel-electric submarines used by the Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force (JMSDF). Designed in the 1970s, these submarines are known for their advanced sonar systems and quiet operation, making them effective for anti-submarine warfare.
The class consists of 11 submarines, with the first commissioned in 1976. The Yūshio-class submarines are equipped with torpedoes and can carry out various missions, including reconnaissance and surveillance. They have been succeeded by the more advanced Sōryū-class submarines, which feature improved technology and capabilities.
