Xu Zhimo
Xu Zhimo was a prominent Chinese poet known for his romantic and modernist style. Born on January 15, 1895, in Haining, Zhejiang, he studied in the United States and later in England, where he was influenced by Western literature. His works often reflect themes of love, nature, and the beauty of fleeting moments.
He is best known for his poem "Second Farewell to Cambridge," which expresses his deep feelings for the city and his experiences there. Xu Zhimo played a significant role in the New Culture Movement, advocating for literary reform and the use of vernacular Chinese in poetry. He passed away in a tragic accident on November 19, 1931.
