Xolotl
Xolotl is an important deity in Aztec mythology, often associated with fire and lightning. He is depicted as a dog-headed figure and is known as the god of the underworld, guiding souls to their afterlife. Xolotl is also linked to the evening star, representing the transition between life and death.
In addition to his role as a psychopomp, Xolotl is associated with the creation of humanity. According to myth, he transformed himself into a monster to protect the first humans from the gods' wrath. His dual nature embodies both the protective and destructive aspects of life.
