Xiomara Castro
Xiomara Castro is a Honduran politician and the first female president of Honduras, having taken office in January 2022. She is a member of the Liberty and Refoundation party and has been an advocate for social justice, women's rights, and anti-corruption measures throughout her political career.
Before her presidency, Castro served as a congresswoman and was known for her activism against the political establishment. She is the wife of former president Manuel Zelaya, who was ousted in a coup in 2009. Castro's election marked a significant shift in the political landscape of Honduras.
