World Underwater Federation
The World Underwater Federation (CMAS) is an international organization dedicated to promoting underwater sports and activities. Founded in 1959, it aims to foster cooperation among various national federations involved in diving, underwater photography, and other aquatic disciplines. CMAS also sets standards for training and safety in these sports.
In addition to organizing competitions and events, the federation works to protect marine environments and promote sustainable practices. It collaborates with organizations and governments to raise awareness about the importance of preserving underwater ecosystems, ensuring that future generations can enjoy activities like scuba diving and freediving.
