World Monuments Fund
The World Monuments Fund (WMF) is a non-profit organization dedicated to preserving and protecting cultural heritage sites around the globe. Founded in 1965, it works to safeguard monuments and historic places that are at risk due to neglect, conflict, or natural disasters. WMF collaborates with local communities, governments, and other organizations to implement conservation projects and raise awareness about the importance of cultural heritage.
WMF also maintains the World Monuments Watch, a biennial list that highlights endangered sites in need of urgent attention. This initiative aims to mobilize resources and support for preservation efforts, ensuring that significant cultural landmarks, such as ancient ruins and historic buildings, are preserved for future generations.
