World Cup Trophy
The World Cup Trophy is awarded to the winner of the FIFA World Cup, the premier international soccer tournament. Made of 18-carat gold, the trophy stands 36.8 centimeters tall and weighs approximately 6.1 kilograms. It features two human figures holding up the Earth, symbolizing the global nature of the competition.
First introduced in 1930, the trophy has undergone changes over the years. The original trophy, known as the Jules Rimet Trophy, was replaced in 1974 due to theft and damage. The current design, created by Italian artist Silvio Gazzaniga, has become an iconic symbol of soccer excellence.
