Wolfhounds
Wolfhounds are large, powerful dogs known for their gentle temperament and loyalty. The most recognized breed is the Irish Wolfhound, originally bred for hunting wolves and other large game. They have a distinctive rough coat and can stand up to 32 inches tall at the shoulder, making them one of the tallest dog breeds.
Despite their size, wolfhounds are often described as gentle giants. They are friendly and good with children, making them excellent family pets. Regular exercise is important for their health, but they are generally calm and enjoy lounging around the house when not active.
