William Rockhill Nelson
William Rockhill Nelson was an American newspaper publisher and philanthropist, best known for founding the Kansas City Star in 1880. Born on February 27, 1841, in New York City, he played a significant role in shaping journalism in the Midwest. His commitment to quality reporting and community service helped the newspaper grow into a leading publication.
