William Pickett
William Pickett was an American cowboy and rodeo performer, born on December 5, 1870, in Travis County, Texas. He is best known for inventing the rodeo technique called "bulldogging," which involves wrestling a steer to the ground. Pickett's unique style and skills made him a prominent figure in the early days of rodeo.
In addition to his contributions to rodeo, Pickett was also a member of the Buffalo Bill's Wild West Show, where he showcased his talents to audiences across the United States. He became one of the first African American cowboys to gain national recognition, paving the way for future generations in the sport.
