William I of Namur
William I of Namur was a nobleman who ruled the County of Namur in present-day Belgium during the late 13th century. He was born around 1250 and became the count in 1271 after the death of his father, Albert I of Namur. His reign was marked by efforts to strengthen the county's independence and manage its relationships with neighboring territories.
William I was also known for his involvement in the political dynamics of the region, including conflicts with the Duchy of Brabant and alliances with other local powers. He died in 1291, leaving a legacy that influenced the future of Namur and its governance.
