William Fitzwilliam, 2nd Earl Fitzwilliam
William Fitzwilliam, 2nd Earl Fitzwilliam (1748-1833), was a prominent British nobleman and politician. He inherited the title of Earl Fitzwilliam in 1816 and was known for his significant influence in Yorkshire, particularly in the Wentworth Woodhouse estate, one of the largest private houses in Europe.
Fitzwilliam was a member of the Whig Party and served in various political roles, including as a Member of Parliament. He was recognized for his progressive views on social reform and his support for the abolition of slavery, reflecting the changing attitudes of his time.
