Will Adams
Will Adams was an English navigator and explorer, best known for being the first Englishman to reach Japan. He arrived in Japan in 1600 aboard a Dutch ship, the De Liefde, and became an important figure in establishing trade relations between Japan and the West.
Adams was granted the title of samurai by the Japanese shogun, Tokugawa Ieyasu, and settled in Japan, where he contributed to shipbuilding and navigation. His experiences and insights helped shape European understanding of Japan during the early 17th century, making him a significant historical figure in both English and Japanese history.
