White-tailed Deer
The White-tailed Deer is a medium-sized deer native to North America. They are easily recognized by their distinctive white underside of the tail, which they raise when alarmed. Adult males, known as bucks, typically have antlers that they shed and regrow annually, while females, called does, do not have antlers.
These deer are herbivores, primarily feeding on leaves, fruits, and grasses. They are most active during dawn and dusk, making them crepuscular animals. White-tailed Deer are social creatures, often found in small groups, and they play a significant role in their ecosystems by influencing plant communities.
