White Earth Reservation
The White Earth Reservation is located in northwestern Minnesota and is the largest Indian reservation in the state. It was established in 1867 and is home to the White Earth Band of Ojibwe. The reservation covers approximately 1,300 square miles and includes a mix of forests, lakes, and wetlands.
The reservation serves as a cultural and economic center for the Ojibwe people, who engage in various activities such as traditional crafts, agriculture, and tourism. The White Earth Nation operates programs aimed at preserving their heritage and improving the quality of life for its members.
