Western Women's Hockey League
The Western Women's Hockey League (WWHL) was a professional women's ice hockey league in North America, established in 1999. It aimed to provide a competitive platform for female players and promote women's hockey. The league featured teams from various western cities, including Calgary, Edmonton, and Minnesota.
The WWHL operated until 2015, when it ceased operations due to financial challenges and a lack of sustainability. Despite its closure, the league played a significant role in the development of women's hockey and helped pave the way for future initiatives, such as the National Women's Hockey League (NWHL).
