Western Association of Schools and Colleges
The Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC) is a regional accrediting agency that evaluates and accredits educational institutions in the western United States. Established in 1962, WASC ensures that schools and colleges meet specific standards of quality and effectiveness in their educational programs.
WASC is divided into three main divisions: the Senior College and University Commission (SCUC), the Accrediting Commission for Community and Junior Colleges (ACCJC), and the Accrediting Commission for Schools (ACS). Each division focuses on different types of institutions, helping to maintain educational excellence across various levels of education.
