Wechsler Scales
The Wechsler Scales are a set of standardized tests designed to measure intelligence in individuals. Developed by David Wechsler, these scales assess various cognitive abilities, including verbal comprehension, perceptual reasoning, working memory, and processing speed. The most commonly used versions are the Wechsler Adult Intelligence Scale (WAIS) for adults and the Wechsler Intelligence Scale for Children (WISC) for children.
These tests provide a comprehensive profile of an individual's intellectual strengths and weaknesses. Results are often used in educational settings, clinical assessments, and research to better understand cognitive functioning and to identify any learning disabilities or giftedness.
