Wave Hill cattle station
Wave Hill cattle station is a large cattle ranch located in the Northern Territory of Australia. It covers an area of approximately 5,000 square kilometers and is known for its extensive grazing land. The station primarily raises cattle for beef production and plays a significant role in the local economy.
In 1966, Wave Hill became famous for the Wave Hill walk-off, a significant event in Australian history. Indigenous workers, led by Vincent Lingiari, protested against poor working conditions and land rights, which eventually contributed to the broader Aboriginal land rights movement in Australia.
