Waterworld
"Waterworld" is a 1995 science fiction film directed by Kevin Reynolds and starring Kevin Costner. The story is set in a future where the Earth is mostly covered by water due to melting ice caps. The main character, known as the Mariner, is a mutant with gills who navigates the oceans on a trimaran while searching for dry land.
The film features a dystopian society where pirates, called the Smokers, hunt for survivors and resources. The Mariner teams up with a woman and a young girl who possess a map to the mythical Dryland. Despite its mixed reviews, "Waterworld" is known for its ambitious production and elaborate water-based action sequences.
