Waterspout
A waterspout is a tornado that forms over a body of water. It is characterized by a rotating column of air that connects the surface of the water to a cumulus cloud above. Waterspouts can vary in size and intensity, and they often occur in warm, humid conditions.
These phenomena can be dangerous, as they can produce strong winds and heavy rain. Waterspouts can also cause damage if they move onto land. They are commonly observed in areas like the Gulf of Mexico and the Mediterranean Sea, where warm air meets cooler water.
