Watermelons
Watermelons are large, juicy fruits that belong to the gourd family, which also includes cucumbers and pumpkins. They have a thick, green rind and sweet, red or pink flesh filled with black seeds, although seedless varieties are also common. Watermelons are about 90% water, making them a refreshing snack, especially in hot weather.
Originating in Africa, watermelons are now grown in many parts of the world. They are typically harvested in the summer months and are enjoyed fresh, in salads, or as juice. Rich in vitamins A and C, watermelons are not only delicious but also nutritious.
