Washington quarter
The Washington quarter is a U.S. coin that features the profile of George Washington, the first President of the United States, on its obverse side. It was first minted in 1932 to commemorate the 200th anniversary of Washington's birth. The coin is made of a copper-nickel alloy and has a diameter of 24.26 mm.
On the reverse side, the Washington quarter originally depicted an eagle, but in 1999, the U.S. Mint began a series of state quarters that showcased designs representing each state. The quarter remains a popular coin for collectors and is widely used in everyday transactions.
