Washington Senators
The Washington Senators were a professional baseball team based in Washington, D.C. They played in Major League Baseball (MLB) from 1901 to 1960. The team was part of the American League and had two separate incarnations: the original Senators (1901-1960) and a later version that existed from 1961 to 1971 before relocating to become the Texas Rangers.
The Senators had a mixed history, with several seasons of poor performance and a few notable successes, including winning the American League pennant in 1924. The team was known for its loyal fan base and played its home games at Griffith Stadium before moving to Robert F. Kennedy Memorial Stadium later in their history.
