Washington Luís
Washington Luís was a Brazilian politician who served as the 13th President of Brazil from 1926 to 1930. He was born on October 26, 1869, in the city of São Paulo. Before his presidency, he held various political positions, including mayor of São Paulo and governor of the state of São Paulo. His administration focused on infrastructure development and modernization.
His presidency ended in 1930 when he was overthrown in a coup led by Getúlio Vargas. Following his removal, Washington Luís went into exile and lived in several countries, including the United States. He returned to Brazil in 1947 and passed away on August 4, 1957.
