Washington Bullets
The Washington Bullets were a professional basketball team based in Washington, D.C.. They played in the National Basketball Association (NBA) from 1961 until 1997. The team was known for its vibrant blue and red colors and had a passionate fan base. In 1978, the Bullets won their only NBA championship, defeating the Seattle SuperSonics.
In 1997, the franchise changed its name to the Washington Wizards. The name change was part of a rebranding effort to move away from the violent connotations associated with the term "Bullets." The Wizards continue to represent the city in the NBA today.
