Walloon language
The Walloon language is a Romance language spoken primarily in the Wallonia region of Belgium. It is part of the Langue d'oïl group, which includes other regional languages like Picard and Norman. Walloon has several dialects, including Liège, Namur, and Hainaut, each with unique characteristics.
Although it has historical significance and a rich cultural heritage, the number of Walloon speakers has declined over the years. Efforts are being made to preserve and promote the language through education and cultural initiatives, highlighting its importance in the identity of the Walloon people.
